Dolby Atmos Home
In the quarter century since Dolby for the first time introduced home theater surround sound, increasingly developed systems grew: the first two sound channels, then five, then seven. But the sound was always two-dimensional, surrounding the listeners in a loop, not a dome. With ATOMOS, Dolby and A / V partners (Pioneer, Marantz and Onkyo, to name a few) have added a third dimension: height, which sound engineers can use to place individual sounds anywhere in three-dimensional space. Imagine seeing Godzilla hit as the helicopter rotors head.
Atmos systems consist of one receiver and at least eight speakers, two of which handle the sound at the top. The handler inside the receiver interprets up to 118 object tracks and accurately places sounds in any environment. The recipient then sets the object paths to a maximum of 34 speakers per room. For the top sound, users can install speakers installed on the ceiling or choose an Atmos-enabled floor or shelf, which has overhead drivers that bounce the ceiling to create the illusion that comes from above. This fall, studios began including Atmos tracks on selected Blu-ray discs and broadcast services such as Voodoo. Your room will not look the same.
WWE MEP
Built in conjunction with the Robot Lab of the University of California at San Diego, MEP, or the inverted mobile pendulum, is the first automated robot. The device uses a combination of multi-axis gyroscopes and accelerometers to stay upright. You can respond to gesture commands, zip around corners, and carry small items like a can of soda, all while holding upright. The best part? Network users can reach up to eight mips together for synchronized movement. Robot Dance Party! $ 100 WWE
